Volunteers at Public Safety bring a variety of vital skills to our offenders-they teach yoga, offer parenting classes, and help prepare those on their way home for an active job search. Our volunteer teams share one critical common thread: a dedication to improving the lives of others.

It is this dedication that allows us to offer an impressive breadth of rehabilitation programs. The majority of individuals under our care will be returning to our local communities once they have served their time, and your assistance paves their roadmap to successful reentry.

From the moment an individual enters the pre-trial system, through the duration of their sentence, and even during community parole or probation supervision, volunteers supplement our amazing staff. By helping provide tools for success, you help build a safer Maryland.

Beyond our direct facility frameworks, volunteers also lend core talents to essential administrative hubs, including financial systems, data analytics, procurement operations, and specialized support tracks like the Victims Services Unit.
