YDC-BHS

The Youth Detention Center (YDC) in Baltimore recently hosted a joyful Valentine’s Day dance to celebrate youth who have remained infraction-free — recognizing their hard work, positive choices, and commitment to personal growth.

The evening was filled with encouragement and support as family members joined the celebration alongside partners from the Behavioral Health System Baltimore in collaboration with Links Program of Baltimore. We also thank Judge Emanuel Brown for attending and sharing words of inspiration with our youth.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff and community partners who donated clothing, shoes, and provided haircuts, helping the youth look their best and feel confident for this special occasion. Moments like these remind us how powerful support, recognition, and community can be in helping young people thrive.

MCIW MasterPlan grads

Congratulations to the graduates of the Master Plan Program at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women (MCIW)!

These women completed the Master Plan Program, a trauma-informed, evidence-based series of discussion sessions and guided activities designed to help justice-impacted individuals build resilience, understand how systems and personal experiences shape their stories, and plan for a successful reentry into society. The program, created by Chris Wilson, is grounded in his own journey from incarceration to purpose. Through community, goal-setting, and personal development, participants prepare not just for release, but for a meaningful life beyond prison.

Here’s to new beginnings, strength, and the power of planning your future!
