Community Outreach and Special Projects

Community Outreach and Special Projects

The Community Outreach unit is responsible for partnering with evidence based organizations that provide reentry services to returning citizens in an effort to promote the smooth transition back into the community. Many of these programs provide services directly to returning citizens as they return home, while others help prepare incarcerated individuals (IIs) from within the institutions. In addition, the unit is charged with engaging directly with the public to educate and inform them of the positive work being done within DPSCS and its partner agencies.

These partners provide a broad array of services across the state, including housing, behavioral health, cognitive behavioral change, workforce development, family reunification, and vocational training, just to name a few.

Examples of a few of our partners include:

  • Lead4Life
  • Center for Urban Families
  • Gatekeepers
  • Living Classrooms Foundation
  • Maryland Reentry Resource Center
  • Warrior Canine Connection
