UPDATE: Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Announces Detainee In Custody

Baltimore, MD (May 24, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) today announced that Franklin Hughes has been taken into custody.
Hughes, 30, was released from the Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center on May 21st at approximately 5:10 PM. Hughes was scheduled to be transferred to Baltimore County for a violation of probation for child pornography. The Department's Intelligence and Investigative Division detectives are investigating the exact circumstances of how he could leave the building.
Hughes was apprehended on Friday, May 24th, in Baltimore by The Department's Warrant Apprehension Unit.
The Department is committed to reviewing and improving procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
