The Western Maryland Honor Guard took part in the Metropolitan Council of Governments events on May 4th, 2024 at the Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC.

The ceremony marked the beginning of Corrections week and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty nationwide. The program commenced with the laying of wreaths and roses for the fallen officers, followed by an Honor Guard drill competition showcasing the teams' skills.

The Western Maryland team clinched a commendable second place in the competition, along with the prestigious title of Best Dressed team for having the fewest uniform deductions.
